NAA National Indoor Registrations Are In Full Swing, and Time Is Running Out!
The NAA's National Indoor happens over three weekends this year, at nine different venues around the United States. To easily find the location nearest to you use this link to the TSAA Calendar, and to read full information, please use this link to the NAA/USA Archery website for the acrobat form. For most Texans, the best location is the one held at College Station. Getting together with your friends at one of these venues will be a highlight to your archery year!
As an added bonus you can use this MAP LINK to the venues to see which one is closest to you, and see the directions provided by the Venue Organizer.

Go Archery
NADA’s go archery!™ goes online! by Doug Engh

The new archery training program, go archery!™, developed by the National Alliance for the Development of Archery (NADA) is now online! NAA or NFAA certified instructors and coaches can visit the go archery!™ website and learn how to teach beginning archery programs in recreation centers and after-school locations. Instructors can review the materials, measure their knowledge of the materials by taking an on-line test, print out a personalized certificate of completion, then order the instructor guide as well as the color illustrated “Drills & Skills” Student Guides from NADA.

go archery!™is the fun way to teach proper shooting form and execution to new archers. It combines proven practice drills (without equipment) along with a series of skills (with equipment) to train new archers fast. Reviewed by top coaches from around the world, go Archery!™ will improve how you teach archery—whether for Olympic competition to 3D, recurve or compound. Archers are rewarded along the way as their form and shot execution improve.

go archery!™ will also teach how to earn a steady income teaching archery though recreation centers. The online course reviews proven marketing methods, program equipment set-ups and class schedules to make it easy for you to approach potential clients with this exciting program.

Visit go archery!™ to learn more. Online course fee is $20 which includes a printed Instructor Guide mailed to you upon completion of the online course. “Drills & Skills” Student Guides are available for $5 each from NADA.

editors note: The new "Drills & Skills" Student Guide booklet by NADA, written by Lloyd Brown, Doug Engh, and Jennifer Holmes, is a superb teaching tool. It is VERY well done, and presents logical steps to the new archer. HIGHLY recommended! To read more about this booklet, and about go archery!™ as well, use this link to the training ops page.

Maps Are Cool
There are three new maps of archers on the Texas Website. Curious about where archers are in Texas, or the US, or even, the WORLD? Use the links to view a map of them, and if you like, add yourself. Your information is not subject to scooping by spammers, and as you will easily see, allows you to post a photo of yourself shooting. You do have to sign up for a free account, but I have not found any downside to this. If there are any other state chapters that want to start their own Frappr Maps, please send me an email with your info and I'll add links to the page.

Coach Kim Will Conduct Seminar On East Coast
Further Information From Jackie Fiala:
Greetings Archers and Coaches!
Attached you will find the registration form for the March 17-20 clinic and seminar with Coach Kim.
This seminar is recommended for recurve bow shooting and coaching. Archers should be at the Intermediate/Advanced level and coaches should be Level 2 and above.
There has been a large interest in this seminar for both archers and coaches. The archers will be limited to 30 for each session and accepted on a first-come basis.
During the shooting clinics, Coach Kim will observe and coach the archers while explaining to coaches what to look for and how to help improve the archer's form. He will also give group instructions.
In the afternoon seminars on Saturday and Sunday, we will meet in a small auditorium, using a Powerpoint demonstration and "Dartfish" analysis, along with lots of other information.
On the registration form, be sure to sign up for the reception and dinner with Coach Kim and his wife. This will be held at the Summerfield Suites hotel at the corner of Park Ave and Columbia Turnpike in Morristown.
There are gourmet box lunches for purchase on the registration form, which must be ordered ahead of time.
The Summerfield Suites is an elegant Hyatt hotel with a kitchen and living room in the suite, and it includes a free hot breakfast! There is a sleeper sofa as well as a King size bed in most suites. For more than three people, ask for a double-room suite or for two double beds in the single suite. Call early as there is a limited number of those rooms.
We are happy to have such a large number of interested coaches and archers and we hope you will be pleased with this seminar.

Sincerely,
Jackie Fiala

DADS (Digital Archery Draw Scale) & EBFM Easton BowForce Mapper)
This is a fundraiser for the TSAA - a one-time opportunity to order from the webmaster, who is taking orders for a Digital Archery Draw Scale with an LCD Display. This product is currently a vapor-ware item, due to a software bug, but the manufacturer tells me it should be "real" for shipping by the first part of March. So we are taking "orders" but no payments. If you order one you will be notified by email when they are ready, and can choose to cancel your order at that time.
The scale is shaped and gripped much like the
Easton Bowforce Mapper, and has a small short hook (not a floppy chain) that replaces the mechanical release in the archer's hand (or the finger tab for a recurve archer). It's a good design for archery use, measuring up to 100 pounds. To read more please refer to this page on the TSAA website.

Additionally, the TSAA now has the Easton Bowforce Mapper product. We have used it at both the JOAD Indoor and State Indoor tournaments, providing an assessment of archers' bows to help them decide on which Easton shafts to purchase. The EBFM will be at the College Station National Indoor Tournament, for use by archers for a $5 payment to the TSAA. Check the Easton link above for more information. In a nutshell, this helps an archer decide what shafts to buy for the upcoming outdoor season and decreases the chance she or he will purchase the wrong shafts. If you are going to be getting new shafts for the outdoor season, plan on using this valuable tool to get an accurate list of suitable shafts!

TSAA Website Link Of The Month
The latest choice for TSAA's "Link of the Month" is a natural one - the Kisik Lee & Robert de Bondt website. It continues to evolve and grow ever richer in information. It is worth bookmarking and studying over and over.
