31st Texas State Indoor and JOAD Indoor Championships
Registration Form 2013

NOTE! "Archers of all ages are allowed to compete with Genesis bows in the barebow division.  In this division, the Genesis bow should meet all the rules of the fita barebow (i.e. no stabilizers, sights, clickers, release aids, etc.) except that the bow is not required to fit through a 12.2 cm ring." Just choose your bowtype during the registration form process!

There will be several "mini-clinics" for anyone interested in catching up with the latest NTS refinements. Not for athletes, as much as for coaches and mentors. If you are interested, please email the webmaster and when you will be at either UT or Plano, and we can try to schedule the clinic accordingly.

This Star FITA Indoor event is co-located in THREE places to enable archers to more easily participate.

US Collegiate Archery (USCA) students are welcome to compete with no membership required - the TSAA honors your membership in the USCA.

In the northern region of Texas, the Texas Archery Academy in Plano will host BOTH the Senior Event (120 arrows) and the JOAD event (60 arrows under JOAD rules); and the University of Texas Archery Club will host the Senior Event(120 arrows) and T.H.E. JOAD in Columbus will host the JOAD Event (60 arrows) in the Central/South Eastern region.

Any USA Archery or NFAA members from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Louisiana are TSAA "members" and welcome for this event. Guests are also encouraged to participate.

REMINDER: The annual general meeting of the TSAA will be held at UT on Saturday at approximately 4PM. We will attempt to relay the contents of the meeting's intent to a similar meeting at the Plano Shoot the following weekend. All members are urged/invited to participate in the discussions, which include planning for the National Field Championships the TSAA is hosting for 2013 & 2014 as well as election of Board Officers.

TO explain: There are two annual "Indoor Championship" events held by TSAA. One is the senior indoor event, classified as a Star FITA, where archers of all ages shoot 60 arrows at TWO different times for a total of 120 arrows, all on a 40 cm size target. No awards given unless full rounds for division are shot. JOAD youth archers often shoot in this event as well, in their age-appropriate category but it is NOT called a JOAD event due to the greater # of arrows and the smaller size of the target.

The second event, being held during the same weekend in Plano as the senior, and in Columbus, is called the JOAD Indoor, and is for archers 20 years old AND YOUNGER (including college students) who will shoot 60 arrows total for the event, using mainly 60cm targets (except for the older divisions). There will be no JOAD shoot at U.T., though youth archers are welcome to shoot at UT in the senior (120 arrows/40 cm targets) event. Also, ADULT archers are accepted on a space-available basis during JOAD events, remembering that the reason for the tournament is the "kids get to shoot" first.

Shooting Times

For the JOAD shoots pick ONE time from any of the first 3 times. For the senior events you must pick 2 times below:
Friday 6 pm,
Saturday 9 am, Sat 1 pm, & 6:30 pm
Sunday 8 am & 12 pm
(lines may start slightly later depending on prior shooting line's progress)

The senior tournament will be a FITA shot at 18 meters (120 arrows will be shot during two rounds of 60, 3 arrows per end), using two time slots of your choice.  Shooting will generally be two lines unless archers number less than 20.
The JOAD tournament will be a JOAD shoot of 60 arrows shot during one timeline. (Fri 6pm, Sat 9am, or Sat 1pm).
