Archers may choose to compete in an older division. The NAA Archer and NAA Yeoman classes are for the recreational archer and for those who are unable to reach the adult distances. ^#Scores shot by a JOAD archer shooting in the NAA Archer/Yeoman divisions cannot be used to determine eligibility for the NAA Junior USAT (US Archery Team). All outdoor classes shoot the two longer distances (usually, but not required, starting with the longer distance) at the 122cm target face (outer 10 ring), and the shorter two distances at the 80cm target (outer 10 ring). Please note that the Bowmen shoot 25 meters twice (once at each size target). All archers shoot 36 arrows at each distance. An archer, properly registered for a tournament, may legitimately claim ANY record for which the score he/she shot exceeds an existing record, even if the record is in a higher division.* For example, a cadet who shoots an indoor 600 round score that exceeds the existing record score of the Junior (or Senior) division may claim that record as well as the cadet division record. Also, if the archer registers "up" one or more divisions yet still exceeds the record for his/her natural divsion (ie, a cadet registers as a JUNIOR and shoots a score that exceeds the existing cadet record for the distance shot) may lay legitimate claim to the cadet record even though the archer did not compete in that lower division during the tournament.
