This page includes information
provided by the JOADs. JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) clubs
exist to teach youth archery to all interested individuals. Most provide
equipment for beginners to use, and follow the USA Archery guidelines to insure safety
and fun.

AND
The Texas Archery Academy in Plano is the North Central Texas' best source, and the Straight Arrow Archery school is the same high quality and uses the revolutionary method teachin' for South Texas in Victoria, Texas for teaching the National Training System (aka B.E.S.T. method) per Kisik Lee, and certifies people to be instructors for camps, schools, NASP, and much more. If you are within an hour's drive of either of these two acadamies of archery excellence for kids AND adults, you are fortunate to be able to visit them and expose your children to one of the safest, most powerfully effective builders of self-esteem Olympic sports going. Click the images above to see more. Of interesting note, Straight Arrow Archery and Tom Barker/Gene Kacir have trained to such excellence that as of June, 2012, just a couple of years since they started, FORTY-FIVE international competition trips have been won by their students - Texas archers representing TEAM USA in countries around the world 45 times! What an astounding track record!

North Austin - Archery Country has a range, sells gear, and has in May of 2012, started conducting weekly lessons for youths on Saturday mornings.

Austin JOAD Archers - South Austin has an advanced academy for teaching the National Training Method in their JOAD environment, and have been responsible for hundreds of excellent archers through the last 16 years.
Per Racae:
"Archery Training Center trains 40-50 kids and parents each weekend at our facility in South Austin. Our 2012 Summer Archery Games program is fully booked all summer. (We're creating a few more spots.) Coach Alex (Level 4 Regional/JDT Coach and member of USA Archery's International Training Staff) gives one-on-one private lessons to advanced archers every week. Our archers come from as far away as Georgetown and San Antonio...This is our 17th year of coaching!"
