2014 Texas State Target and JOAD Target Championships
June 7-8, 2014

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. 6/4/2014

Hosted by "THE JOAD" of Columbus, Texas.

NOTICE: The JOAD Target event and the Adult Target event are being shot at the same venue, but on separate fields (just like at the USAA Nationals in the past). All archers will shoot a 72-arrow Olympic Round at a single distance Saturday morning, adults on one field and youth on another, adjacent field. Yes, there will be two fields used. Youth will be shooting from the edge of the Pavilion. Adult shooting line will be a short distance to one side of the Pavilion, in a separate shooting field.

NOTE: We will be taking orders and payment at Check-In each morning for bag lunches to be brought in from a local restaurant each day. Snacks and drinks will still be available at our concession stand.
Will there be shade? The JOAD competition will use the pavilion for shade. The adults need to bring pop-up tents for shade.
What if I have an RV? You cannot shoot from the RV! However, there WILL be RV hookups available at the Fairgrounds and they are very comfy to stay in.  The parking fee is $25/night.  Electricity (30amp only) and water is available - no sewer.  If anyone is interested, they should contact Paul Schlaudraff at 979/733-0020.

OK, I know my division. Just how FAR have my arrows got to go and how many arrows do I need to have? (minimum) 72 arrows, in rounds of 36 arrows divided by a break, on Saturday morningadult/junior barebow archers would shoot 60 meters and Masters (all of them) and Cadets would shoot 50 meters, Cubs would shoot 30 meters and Bowmen would shoot 20 meters.

*Please note that all Compound archers will be shooting on their own individual target face using the 80cm FITA target face that scores out to the 5-ring.

PS: All smart archers bring EXTRA arrows, cause, you know....

What Must You Wear? (and "NOT") To be consistent with the USA Archery's National Rules, the USA Archery dress code applies to Official Practice and Competition days.
No camouflage attire and no denim will be allowed at practice or tournament competition days, Please do not require us to throw you off the field because you ignored the rules!
Manners   By registering, you agree to behave. If you have any doubts about what that means, please review the USAA Code Of Conduct. No exceptions, No excuses. Archery is the greatest sport when it comes to SPORTSMANSHIP!
For the Youngest Archers YEOMAN! That's the ticket! These are the little guys, frequently little brothers and sisters that want to play. Scores are not reported (but we do try and teach them how to keep score and record scores) and is a participation class only. Nominal awards are given to all the kids for participating with no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd designations. As such, we can then put the target at any distance so they spend more time in front of the target shooting than behind the target looking for arrows. Typically, either 20 or 15 meters on a 122cm face the whole time. If they need to take a few ends off to watch the butterflies or go to the bathroom, no big deal. If they want to stop half way through and then change their mind and resume once they have had their snack, so be it. It is all about fun and participation within the confines of the other competition for these little guys. The suggestion is to start these guys at 20 meters and and adjust closer if needed. Yeoman are discounted to only $10 for the tournament.
Compound Scoring There is an inner X Ring in the outdoor target, be sure you understand HOW you will score your arrows in the gold (9/10/x values)!
